The Mask

Matthew 16
1 The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. 3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? 4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
What is this phenomenon?! It is suggestive that Jesus despises and avoids these wicked and adulterous men and Jesus compared them to Jonas who did not get a sign from heaven. Jesus wouldn't show his face to this people. Could it be that Jesus wears a mask to disguise himself when preaching?
Matthew 10
27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
Of course the meaning could be literal or a metaphor or both.

I think that in Matthew 10 it is literal that Jesus wears a mask when preaching to members because only the disciples know his true identity. While in Matthew 16 Jesus doesn't wear a physical mask and these are people trying to investigate or get close to him but Jesus smells what these guys are up to so he said Hear the wind sings.
