Letter of Commendation

2 Corinthians
1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? 2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. 4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

The early christians did their work with faith because of the epistles written in their hearts not because of letters of commendation or awards from people. Do we need commendation awards and tattoos? When we tattoo ink to manifest the epistles of Christ like tattooing images, passages from famous sayings and literature, remember that the spiritual is the most important. Fine, have tattoos and commendation awards but this is not a basis of how righteous you are. So when you choose to have tattoos, manifest the tattoos in your works because works define how righteous you are. Become the tattoo. Ink the epistles in your hearts and work. That is the reward in itself. Not grudgingly, nor of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

Faster, Higher, Stronger is the motto of the Olympics. Whoever is the fastest to run, the highest jumper and the strongest weightlifter gets the gold medal. But what is the most important is the athletes participate for the love of the game. This is the reward in itself. This is the essence of sports and any type of competition. You love the game, the awards are icing on the cake.
